A: No, there is no need to install anything, either on your computer or network
in order to start working with yAuthor
Q: How can I create an interactive lesson?
A: To create an interactive lesson you have to choose a graphical design and
start Editor.
Q: How can I define a template for a screen?
A: To define a template for a screen you have to choose one of the available
templates and modify it easily
Q: Is it possible to create a new graphical design with yAuthor.
A: yAuthor itself does not offer the possibility of creating new graphical designs.
To create such designs you have to use yPublisher technology, or we can create a design for you.
Q: Do I need a software developer or ICT specialist to create my interactive
lessons?
A: No, you can create your interactive lessons on your own.
Q: Can I have yAuthor installed on my network?
A: Yes, YDP provides yAuthor in two versions: ASP (Application Service Provider,
where YDP hosts the application for you) and deployment on your network.
Q: I am logged in on the yAuthor portal. Where should I click to view my interactive lessons?
A: When you are logged in to the yAuthor portal, the system automatically takes
you to the 'My library' section where you can view your interactive lessons.
Q: Do the files have to be on my Hard Disk Drive (HDD)?
A: Yes, but you can also upload the files using any kind of drive, for example:
HDD, pen drive, memory card etc.
Q: What are 'labels' and how can I use them?
A: You can define your own 'labels' and you can describe content with labels
defined earlier. This will be very helpful during searching in the 'My library' section.
Q: How can a sound file or video be added to an interactive lesson?
A: You can embed these files in the screens of your lesson in dedicated media players.
Q: How can I pay for the selected licence?
A: Please visit the CONTACT section and fill out the form or call us.
Q: Is the price of disk space (EUR 500) included in the price of each package?
A: Each package already includes appropriate disk space in the licence fee.
However, an extra 1 GB of disk space is available as an option for EUR 500.
Q: Can I recover a deleted interactive lesson?
A: Yes, you can 'undelete' your interactive lesson from the Trash folder.
Q: How can I restore an interactive lesson from the Trash folder to My library?
A: To restore an interactive lesson, you need to go to the Trash folder, select
your content and use the 'Undelete' button.
Q: How much does the annual licence cost for subsequent years, after the first
year's has expired?
